Dr. Krishna visits from Singapore
The Branch took the opportunity to host Dr. Krishnamurthy, or ‘Prof. Krishna’ all the way from Singapore. Prof. Krishna gave a fascinating talk about his myriad experiences in engineering, including his role in helping to found the School of Engineering at UAB, and starting new ASCE chapters abroad.
I-20/59 Field Trip!
Members of the ASCE Birmingham Branch had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the I-20/59 project in downtown Birmingham in June. Through ALDOT, we were offered an exclusive look behind the scenes at the segment casting yard and gievn the chance to tour the actual construction site where installation is underway. Many thanks to Branch YMG President Hector Orozco and Lonny Traylor of ALDOT for helping to make this great experience happen. Due to the success of this event, we are working to schedule more field trips in the upcoming year. Stay tuned!
